42% of adult occasion in 2021 took place alone (a decrease of 5 percentage points from 2019). The shift in social context varied by generation due to increases in working from home, financial constraints and increases in couple and family eating occasions.

Potato Market Update
The russet potato market remains unchanged. Demand is very steady. Idaho growers see that their supplies will be down from last year. Pricing continues to be at near-record levels throughout all shipping areas.

Growers in the Northeast are shipping storage crop white potatoes and are taking care of all customers in the Northeast and Southeast. Pricing continues to be standard for this time of the year.
All yellow potato shipping areas have an excellent crop with above-average quality. Pricing is very promotable in all regions.
Fingerling potatoes are in limited hands in all shipping regions. Pricing remains very strong.
Onion Market Update
The overall onion market remains steady for October. All sizes and colors are in good supply, with jumbo yellow onions and larger being the exception.
Harvest in the Columbia Basin and Idaho is now completed for the season. Growers are looking forward to a great season, with excellent quality being reported.
