Potato Market Update
Minimal change in the russet potato market. Demand is steady throughout the country. A few growers in Wisconsin will be out of product in the next couple of days. This will change the sourcing strategy in Wisconsin and Michigan. Otherwise, all sheds appear to have good availability in all sizes.
Supply and demand of white potatoes continue to center around the Northeast and Southeast. Pricing remains very steady.
Supplies of yellow potatoes are gone in Wisconsin. Growers in Colorado, Minnesota, North Dakota, Idaho, and Canada still have yellow potatoes. Quality remains nice. Growers in Florida will soon bring a new crop of yellow potatoes to market.
Storage crop fingerling potato supplies are winding down in Colorado and Washington. New crop fingerling potatoes will soon be available from growers in Florida.
Onion Market Update
Large onions, jumbos, and colossal are still in the highest demand. We are seeing great quality out of the Pacific Northwest. New crop onions out of Texas are expected to start mid to late March. Contact your RPE sales representative for all your onion needs!
